Less than 2 years old, Greek carrier Ellinair, member of the Mouzenidis Group, is gaining a reputation for on time performance and efficiency. With a growing following, the airline announced on August 17 that  the seasonal summer route between Thessaloniki and Heraklion would be extended by three weeks to September 30.   A leased Avro RJ85 100 seater aircraft operates on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Ellinair has been achieving 80 per cent full flights.

Two other routes extended are Thessaloniki-Santorini and Athens-Santorini. Avro RJ85 operate five weekly return services on each route. 

Ellinair also flies June-September between Athens and Heraklion on four days a week. These are Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays using RJ85’s.

Ellinair specialises in flights between Greece and Russian cities in addition to domestic services. Ticket prices include a generous 20kg checked baggage allowance and one 5kg hand baggage.
